Ok while I am here I might as well ask. I know that humar is key to making my game work. So here's my sticking point, what do I do as I am not a naturally funny person? at least I don't think I am.

Everyone can be funny, and ill admit that im not the funniest person on this planet.

no particular order:

1) Try Sarcasm.....Dry Wit

2)Go to a book store and find a book or goto amazon and type how to be funny"

3) Make fun of her but NOT in a offensive way!!!!
For example" i was getting my haircut yesterday and i got into a conversation with one of the girl who worked there and she said that she got lost in London while going to work so she went a bought some shoes instead.

so was saying that id sack her if i was her employer and that she was a really bad employee etc. that sort of thing

Then we started saying that she fancied "The Hoff" Ie david hasslehoff and that she had a t shirt with "I love david hasslehoff" on it. She though it was funny because it was in a teasing way and not true.

4)pick up on characteristics and tease her about it, again in a NON offensive way. ie dont call her fat !lol unless shes thin then it might work because its totally the opposite.

in otherwords cocky funny is a good place to start but remember its not the only type of humour!!

try david deangelo cocky funny dvd, i dont have it but his stuff is pretty good.

and DONT BE A CLOWN because the you come across as an idiot.

hope that helps and good luck

peace out

it is a confidence thing, but you dont have to be really confident to be funny. Just be confident in what you say..if that make sense. dont mumble your words.

but it usually helpful to think before you speak so you dont say anything stupid.

As my dad used to say lol "engage brain before mouth" lol

peace out

Funny is all about timing. Its key. Something RIDICOLOUSLY funny can just make you look socially retarded if timed incorrectly.

The KIND of humour would be the teasing lighthearted kind, smart and quickthought.

A good idea would be to take standard questions you might encounter during a sarge, and precreate some funny responses. Like "what do you do?", "do you have a girlfriend?", "youre just a player, arent you?", and so forth.

Also, the questions you normally ask, think of the ways she can reply to that, and precreate something funny to say about whatever she comes back with.

If you're not naturally funny, then watch Comedy Central.
Watch some Dane Cook, and other comedians.

Keep an eye on how they tell stories and such.

Eventually it'll rub off on you.

Me, I guess I'd say I'm naturally funny.
But after watching alot of Dane Cook, my story-telling skills surged.
You can turn even the most basic things into funny stories.

Also, David Deangelo has his Cocky Comedy CD set.
I loved that... it took awhile for it to get to actual examples (David D. likes to talk about alot of theory and psychology), but when it did, there are some really good examples of humor to use out in the field, or even just anywhere.

Some good tips above.

If your really interested in the theory behind humour and what makes certain things funny check out a book called comedy writing secrets (you can find it on amazon).

TBH I didn’t read it in its entirety but the basic argument is that some people are naturally funny, however there is theory behind coming up with funny material and with a bit of hardwork, learning and practice anyone can do it.

I didn’t find it all releveant (I have no aspirations to be a stand up comedian) but theres some useful stuff on play on words, innuendos, double entendres, twisted cliches and reforming phrases. Also theres a lot of small exercises to get you using your imagination and becoming more aware of words and how they can be used to turn sentences on their head with humorous results (I didn’t really use these but I can see they might help people who really are struggling at the beginning).

Also you have to remember that what one person finds funny is not going to appeal the next person so you need to tailor your humour to your target audience, in your case the HB's your trying to game. So really try and think about what makes girls laugh rather than what makes you laugh!

I like to use off the cuff sarcasm and just act C/F when in a set, I find it more natural but this did help me in the beginning to come up with my own material for openers, and comebacks to typical small talk questionsn rather than just always using other peoples canned material.

Cheers to you as well, strategy.

I've read a few of your posts... you seem like a fun, likable character.
We need those kind of people on this forum.

About the politics... I don't expect too much more of that.
I'm not even sure why I got involved, I've only been on this for a few days.
It probably wasn't my place.

But yeah, I wouldn't worry too much about forum BS.
We're far more overrun with actual questions and advice.
Do enjoy. :D
