I have been good at the PUA basics, but want to step it up and make some changes to my game face.

I've been away from the forum for a while, so I think I can contribute some of my successes and failures.

My biggest failure, is I come across as an asshole, or at least serious and unfriendly.

My career requires it. I have to have a serious game face on for business, and have to be a real prick sometimes.

The problem is; I don't know how to turn it off.

After work I still can be a real asshat to people, even though I am reasonably friendly inside.

The second problem is inside, I am at heart a shy person. So in being a jerk it makes it easy to be shy. I can distance myself from people pretty convincingly. Add to that a strong ego, it's easy to see what my main problem is.

In past years, I have taken some comedy courses. They are real good for me but I still have to be able to switch "games" after work.

So in a way, somewhat the opposite problem that a lot of guys have. I need to smile and be a little more open and approachable.

A good example is in the gym. I am super serious about my workouts. I don't talk to anyone! I miss a ton of opportunities. So the heavy weights and the fitness attract looks, but my body language makes me less than approachable.

Like I sad career wise this has really worked for me. I need to have a personality on off switch.

Sounds like you are putting on a persona to cover up insecurity with women. The only real solution is to build deep rooted confidence.

Start by putting yourself out there more and reading quality resources(i.e. my stuff) reflecting on it and building yourself from the inside out.

Thanks Steve, that's a good assessment.
It may even go further than that, in that my lack of confidence is with not just mainly women, but both sexes.

I've got some reading to do. I think also I need to put myself out there where there are a lot more women. My work environment is 99% men.
