Has anyone ever tried messaging a friend of a girl you met (you met them at the same time) and briefly dated non-seriously, and then she lost interest? My first impression is that this should work fine - the one girl who felt rejected by you choosing her friend will feel validated and the other girl threatened.

Has anyone tried this in practice?
