She told me that my friend was nice, and then she asked about my age and I told her 21, turns out she was 24. She was a bit shocked, I told her that age is only a number. Right after to open properly the conversation, I asked her opinion about dating your best friends ex. She answered then just left.. I didn't understand why ? is it because of my age ?

Even if this is a possible explanation, it is much more probable that she left you for some other reason. Only you know exactly what happened.

She's either a bitch - cause 3 yrs is ridiculous (I'm dating someone 10+ yrs younger than me right now, and have done that many times)... Or she was shit testing you... in which case your response wasn't bad - you can also just say nothing and pretend she didn't even say anything... change the topic.
I would almost say she may not have been interested at all, if that silly amount of back-and-forth drove her away.

There are 40 year old that will love you for being older and girls a year older than you that won't because of that gap. I have a friend who is younger than me (22) who I've seen women go crazy for until they find out his age. Then the walk off. His games is tight and he I'm no way reacts to being younger because he genuinely doesn't care. But he still loses girls sometimes due to his age. Sometimes you just lose the girl for a shit reason.
