I was wondering if there is any benefit to observing groups and their dynamic. Is it more beneficial to just dive in and approach or is there something else that can be learned from simply observing groups and making notes on the behaviors witnessed. So far I have been approaching sets rather regularly but am wondering if there could be something gained by going Jane Goodall occasionally. Thoughts?

Of course there is merit to just observing! People are primates too and our group interactions and behavior aren't all that different. I wouldn't necessarily take notes because people watching is a slightly sensitive subject but nothing wrong with making mental notes. On a near daily basis I observe what guys do in successful interactions and failed interactions. But the real skill is learning how to distinguish between the two while observing. It's most important to observe the females response to stimuli. Pay close attention to body language. At the end of the day, though, I end up just doing what ever the fuck I feel like and it seems to work. In fact, I approached a girl the other day in the student center of my university and invited her back to my apartment. She came later that day and the first thing I did when she got there was take a shit lmao. Turns out they don't care much and your nonchalant behavior will be attractive. Yes the night ended in a lay.
