So long story short, I met this girl and was texting her for a date. I gave her a few options, and we finally found a day to meet, but then she messaged me and said she actually had made plans and forgot about it for the day we were going to meet. Anyways, here's how the convo played out.

I actually have plans on Friday that I totally forgot until earlier this morning
You were my favorite brat but now you're just being a brat I can try another time when I get my schedule, but if you're gonna flake, then I'll have to take my business elsewhere
I actually do have plans Friday that I made last week. I'm a busy person so sometimes I don't remember everything. I would say next week should work but that would be a lie cus after what you just said I'm glad I did not take you on your hang out offer
Don't be mad, it's not a good look for anyone. All I'm saying is I'm not going to try to rearrange my schedule for something that's not guaranteed. You're a busy person so if anybody would understand it'd be you

After that she hasn't responded. I'm not going to kick a dead horse, but I feel as though she is just giving me a little bit of shit, because she was very compliant before all this happened. Anyways, in this situation, how would you handle this, and if it's already dead, what would you have done differently?

Keep in mind that before this we had to go back and forth a little bit to find a time, and I called her out on being flakey because I didn't want to keep trying to find times and come of as needy.

Well 2 things:

1) I think her interest was lukewarm at best to begin with. That's a flake all right - but you may have been able to secure another date, until...

2) That comment. Take your business elsewhere - that's not a wonderful comment. I get that you were trying to play it cool and blow it off... Better would have been a simple, reasonably non-reactive. No problem, another time then... or tell her something came up on your side anyway so that works out.

Yeah, looking at in hindsight, it does come off as a bit defensive on my part. I guess I have to keep in mind that it's not as easy to portray a playful energy through text than it is in person. Oh well, now I know for the next one. Thanks guys!
