Anyone else had this? You're in a club, talking to friends, having a laugh and not really paying much attention to the women around you and then a random chick taps you on the shoulder and makes a random statement about her own interests.

This has happened a few times but the other night was ridiculous. I was walking back to my table after getting a pints when some girl(Probably HB7 or taps me on my shoulder, looks me in the eye and says "I like art." I'm left standing there with my head turned in her direction for about two seconds thinking "What the fuck is wrong with this woman" then give her a thumbs up and say "That's cool." and walk away.

I guess it's obvious she wanted my attention(She did sit beside me earlier, and kept looking at me to which I blew smoke in her face joking) but has anyone else been in these situations? How do you handle them? I'm caught between laughing and thinking of something to say. I mean, that's probably a worse approach than a guy going up to a girl with a joke or cheesy pick up line.

Did it really ruin her for you? Most pickup concepts like negs and frames etc. are based around the idea that "you're the prize", so you should probably run with that when it happens. Reassure her that her stupid and inept efforts are endearing and cute, since she's already put you at the top of the dynamic.

Random statements from girls = poor attempts to make contact. They just don't have game. You should give them creds for making an approach at least. They are passing the ball to you, hoping you have better social skills than them. If you are desperate, you can do as AFCEastChampion suggest. If not, wait for a better opportunity and a better girl who has some game and social skills.
