I'm a junior in high school (will be senior in a couple of weeks), and I've decided that I want to start doing pickup since I'm going to have a lot of time on my hands for summer. I've had a gf before and am talking to a girl now that I've hooked up with a couple of times, but I want to start to learn pick up. But I was just wondering, is pick up something that people here actually practice daily/weekly in order to meet new girls? With pick up, are people able to actually get to the point of sex with a girl that they randomly approached on the street? Obviously, I'm new to the concept of pick up, but I want to talk to more girls and work on my game so if this is something that people actually do I might as well join in. Thanks

What do you mean by pickup exactly? Do you mean pickup as in "being a try-hard only trying to get laid with as many girls as possible" or "learn how to be your best self around women, becoming as attractive as you can possibly get"? The first is what most people do, the second is what I do and recommend, because it is more successful than the first.

The process of going from a stranger to having a sexual relationship with a girl with conscious effort from your part is what I would call pickup. And yes, that is what people do since that's the only way to get girls unless you end up in bed with someone by accident.

Yeah, you can get to that point but since you're still in school I wouldn't worry too much about it. Pick up is more for men with no outlets like schools or large business settings to meet a large number of women. I say wait a few years and finish school before you start practicing PUA daily. And yeah you can have sex with a girl you randomly approach but you're still going to have to meet her a few times and do all the typical dating stuff, so it's only another outlet for meeting the women before you go into a typical dating scenario. The whole idea behind that is just to make her comfortable with you so that it doesn't seem weird.
