Four days ago I went up to a girl at a café and started talking to her. We had a great conversation -- it was relaxed, flowed well and we found out we had a lot in common. Plus she smiled a lot, asked me lots of questions and mentioned that she had seen me in the café before, which I thought were sure IOIs. Unfortunately I wasn't close enough to do any kino and somehow hinting at my sexual interest didn't seem appropriate (although when I first came up to her I did mention that I did it because I thought she was cute).
So yesterday afternoon I sent her an SMS saying: "Ciao insegnante! Are you good at receiving compliments?" (she teaches Italian).
Tonight I received a reply and we had a short conversation through SMS.
Her: Ciao Eduardo, sorry I haven't answered yet. There's been so much work these days. How are you?
Me: It's alright, I understand. It's going well with me, I've just come home from training. Do you like to write in English? (I had been writing to her in Danish and she replied in English).
Her: No Danish is fine
What do you train?
Me: Ok, I like to write in Danish. By the way the compliment was that you seem really exciting. When is a good time to call you? I would like to agree on something we can do together
I train capoeira.
Her: What a sweet compliment to get
thank you. I also liked talking with you! Unfortunately I also have to be honest and say that I'm not up for going out... you know, like a date
More like possibly friendship
It was also for this reason that I suggested facebook instead of exchanging numbers. I'm really sorry if I have been ambiguous. It was really nice to talk to you, and you seem like a very exciting person. I also thought it was really cool that you just approached me
I know it seems like I have a very small chance now -- maybe I don't have a chance at all. But is there anything I can do in this situation? She thinks I'm exciting and I barely know her -- could there be a way to turn this around?
Normally I would just leave this be, but she seems like exactly the kind of girl I'm looking for. So I think I will meet with her once and see how it goes. Do you guys have any tips of what we can do and what I should do/how I should act when we meet? I'm thinking of inviting her to a painting workshop I'm going to on Sunday. Maybe afterwards we could get drinks.
Obviously if we start hanging out without it going anywhere and I start obsessing over her I will let her go.
