I could tell for a while that the relationship was going down the drain, and it finally ended with her hurting me (although part of me is telling me that she may be making this up as her friends were with her and never told me anything, and she changed her story a few times). In short, I think she wanted an excuse to end things.
Anyhow, I'm starting to get over it. Have been rereading some material, and applying it to improve myself. I wake up this morning to find a text from her sent at 4:50 am: "I am going insane".
What do I do here? I feel like I have moved on, but cannot help but feel genuinely concerned for her. What actions should I take? How long should I wait to reply? And with what? I feel like I am willing to take her back, but would like to also have flexibility. In short, I want to continue to build attraction in case the fire gets rekindled.

She hurt you by..... cheating?
Do you want her back or do you want to drive her further insane? (If she cheated on you, why the fuck would you want her back? See why that's important?)
If the relationship was already going down the shitter, and you're already moving on and done with her... Then don't even reply to her.

She went out clubbing and ended up making out with some guy at least this is what she told me. She originally told me that she just danced with people. I even pressed her at the time if she had done anything else. And initially she denied. She brought up this conveniently a few days after she told me she wanted a break, hence the reason why I think she wanted an excuse to break up.
But yeah. It was getting shitty. I thought it was a rut but whatever. With this in mind, I'm not the type to completely discard someone who was part of my life for such a long time. But I suppose the best way to help her move on is to do nothing at all. Thanks.
However. What happens if she begins to constantly text back?
PS. I was no angel during this time period either. So I guess this was inevitable.

You have zero obligation to be any part of her life... or reply to her - especially if you don't want her back. Keeping your needy, untrustworthy ex around because you don't want to discard her is weak - if you don't want to get back together with her...
What do her repeated, badgering texts do for you? Fucking nothing, that's what.

It would completely ruin her life to find out you don't care and you've already started dating other girls. Which is why you should do exactly that. Ignore her texts and leave her wondering. She'll find out on the grapevine.
You're the man! You deserve better.
