| Everyone has been there. I think the best way to "cure" yourself of this anxiety is to first be introspective on why you are actually anxious around strangers, because thee is usually a deeper reason than simply not enough practice. Second, I would take baby steps. Start by conversing with people who are paid to be nice to you, like waitresses or cashiers, clerks, etc. You're not going to hit on them, just make small talk. When you are a little more comfortable with this, approach people who you are NOT attracted to, and again just make small talk. After you are comfortable approaching people you are NOT interested in (men, women, old, young, etc) start approaching women you ARE interested in, but only approach for the sake of approaching, don't invest anything in a conversation or in that particular person, although you may find that they open up and are quite interested.
