I went to hooters tonight the first time after hearing about this PUA stuff. I have been studyin this stuff for about 2 months but i've been in college hadn't had a chance to go to hooters or anything since tonight (spring break). I've been pretty successful at generating interest at college parties and such and even kissed bclosed one time but tonight at hooters I was with my buddies but I just couldn't get my game together. Like it's not so much approach anxiety it's just I'm usually a soft talker, i can put on a deep voice but I have trouble projecting my voice and in loud enviroments it really makes it hard on my game because the girls always are like "huh? what...." all the time and I have to lean in. I just had one of those nights where I wanted to play with the waitress but I just couldn't bring myself to do it so I just gave her my orders and stuff and negged her when things happened and she sat and chatted for about 5 min after she saw another girl talking to us but again she had to strain to hear me and I had to repeat myself it was the same with my buds too tho, it's just loud. Also when she said she had to go for a quick smoke and she would be back in a few minutes I said "smoking is bad" and she gave me a weird look and I said what it is. Also on the check I wrote smoking kills thinking it would be funny and she came back and was like did you write this and I was like yea but she didn't say anything else so maybe it was gay. I dunno. Any tips for this to project a deep voice because when I should my voice tends to get higher pitched and AFC/nerdish. It's weird because I'm 205 with 12% body fat so the voice doesn't fit my stature but it does when im in normal enviroments. Also the waitress was kinda take orders and leave and was kinda rude /bitch shieldish from the start so I kinda didn't try to make convo at all. I dunno I just was out of my game tonight and was out of it in general, you guys have any tips for this? Any specific hooter's strategies? Things to say? It made me mad seeing the girls talking to some older guys who were typical AFC's and drunk but i'm 19 almost 20 anyway go figure. Any help would be great.

For the voice, I would just say practice. I had the same problem, but after a while of practicing, I noticed that my voice started to get where I wanted it to be instead of the higher-pitched voice I used to end up with when I was nervous.

Also, what college has spring break now? It's only the beginning of March... seems kinda early. Oh and can you write in paragraphs? It's hard to read a huge wall of text.

Lol ok, yea writing in paragraphs probably would be easier to read. Thanks for the voice tips I was hoping it wasn't something I just had to deal with and its something your born with or something. Anyone else have hooter's tips?

Best way to pratice with vocals is to get a friend and read something to him while he is stand a short distance away. Then, if he can hear you clearly, have him back up and keep going. Repeat this until is is on the other side of a large room and he can hear you with you having to shout. If you want even more pratice, move to the outdoors and you will get even better at projecting your voice.

When breathing, make a point to take deep breaths into the diaphram, not shallow breaths in lungs. The way you know that you are breathing right is that your stomach will rise, not your chest. This is a technique used by actors and singers to project their voice for all to hear. Take it to heart and in no time background noice will mean very little to you.
