Me: im coming home this weekend so we should hangout sometime.
Her: Lol idk if I can this weekend!
Me: aww, well make time!
Her: ill try
Me: Okay, well just let me know whenever!
Her: I will!!

Probably shouldn't have said aww, makes me sound needy. Also, probably shouldn't have said whenever either, makes me sound like I have too much free time.
(Is my thinking right here?)

Anyways, does it sound like she is just rejecting me or that she might be genuinely busy?

I wouldn't say that. It might be true, but she.mightve genuinely been busy. However, I agree that OP didnt respond ideally.

I don't know the background and your relationship with this girl. Your text convo indicates that you are giving control to the girl. She decides to hang out or not. And She decides whether or not to let you know. Will you be sitting next to your phone the whole weekend??

Be more direct:

Me: im coming home this weekend, lets hang out at our regular pub
Her: Lol idk if I can this weekend!
Me: just be there!
Her: ill try

The girl could be in, would be great if you give some background information.

Anyway, you gave her way too much power. Should reserve your value somewhat, now you became too available.

Only way out of it is to wait till the weekend is over, text her again say you had an awesome weekend or something. Then run your game as per normal without being so available.
