How long have you gone through approach anxiety?

I approached a girl for the first time over 5 months ago and I haven't done it since then. For the past 3 months (Jan, Feb, Mar); I have lacked the drive, motivation, etc. and when I do get that motivation and get a chance to pick-up a girl I like, then I chicken out. I have missed many opportunities in the past 5 months since my latest and first ever approach.

So I am wondering, how long did it take you to actually think - 'Fuck this, I am going to do it'. I feel like that sometimes, but that often comes spontaneously and not when I need it to. When did you finally get to approaching more and more; and finally get laid or a girlfriend from it?

It is driving me up the bend.
