Hey I would appreciate some advice on how to get this girl. I am sure she recently broke up with her bf as its not listed on Facebook anymore and I haven't seen him at football for a while. Me and this chica play football weekly and have done on and off for a year now. We get on well together and she has invited me to things in the past like her house party back when she was with her boyfriend. We tease each other and talk easily, so yesterday we are playing football and I'm flirting with her like usual. Then half time comes and I start talking to a group of guys and she talks to some other guy. The second half starts and she asked me if I got her text and I was like what text you don't even have my phone number and she was like yeah I do. Anyway I have no idea what she could have texted me about as I don't know why she didn't just talk to me as I was near her. Also even if she has my number, she has never text me before. So I get home after the game and check my phone and I have no text so she must have got the wrong number. I'm a little disappointed as my text game is good and could likely have taken advantage of her texting me. The next time I see her is in a weeks time. Should I wait till then, or I have her on Facebook, should I send her a message like "do you always text the wrong people" or something else to start conversation or does it look desperate like I am thinking about her text she send me? Or should I ask her to hang out this Sunday?

Here is my guess... She is probably, just like you, afraid of loosing her chances with you if she shows you too much interest. In some weird attempt to play it safe she asks you if you've got her message to make you give her your phone number without actually asking for it. There probably is no message at all. She just wants your number.

If I am right, you should give her your number without making her loose her face. I would contact her on FB with something like "I haven't received anything from you. Are you sure you have the right number? It is 99999999". Then take it from there.

Hey mate, I can see where your coming from but I think she did actually try and text me. I saw her on her phone at half time and she seemed genuine. Anyway, I haven't contacted her yet and im going to leave contacting her now as it will seem a little desperate I think now to ask her about it. Might be bad, but I did look confused as hell at her when she said she had my phone number so she will realise I was right when she gets no surprised, unless she texted another Steve and he is replying, that would be a laugh! I see her this Wednesday, Ill try and escalate there, should be pretty simple touch wood, and then if she is still giving me ioi's I will ask her to hang out that weekend.
