So I went to this singles happy hour yesterday, ordered a drink and just started talking to the girl standing next to me. By far the fastest I've ever approached a woman... so yay.

"I'm not really sure what I'm looking for."

I just said no biggie we can just get together and see what happens, but... how is she "not sure what she's looking for" if she went to a singles event?

In alll honesty dude. She's not attracted to you. A lot of women don't know what they are looking for but do know what and whom they are attracted to and are generally willing to explore it more when attracted to a man.

It would seem it was a polite rejection. Perhaps you should of worked more on building attraction or intrigue and getting some IOI's before you asked for the digits.

OP there is no problem with asking a girl for her number but do it in a more confident way. Don't ask, semi-tell i.e. be in control.
