| Agree. Your car is not important, your game is.
That being said, I already used my car as part of my game. Not with a specific intent, but because I am, above all, a petrol head and I absolutely can't live with an uninteresting car. In fact, I have a warehouse in a farm I inherited where I keep all my old cars, just because by the time I had/wanted to trade the emotional value of the car was way higher than what the guy at the dealership offered me in trade for a new ride.
The way I use cars in my game is this: Back when I was in college I was one of the few guys who owned a car, so I gave rides to almost every last girl I knew there at one time or another. And being a kind of a computer buff, I installed car-pc systems on all my older cars. Then, my hard drive was about 70% metal and old school rock (the stuff I like) and 30% girly songs, like katy perry, bruno mars, shakira, etc. So everytime a girl enters my car I turn the key and the stereo starts playing AC/DC, Scorpions, Queen or something. If she likes, cool. Most girls don't, so I would just say "Use the touchscreen. Go to media, browse files, and search for something you like". Then I would usually get something like "I can't belive you like this song, that is so cute". Me: "there is a lot you don't know about me", or "yeah, I do... but don't tell anyone, I have a reputation to keep". Or anything that suits the kind of girl you are dealing with.
Also, you don't need an expensive or impressive car. You do need it to be confortable. Unless she is a petrol head, in wich case marry her right now, a girl is not interested in how fast your car goes 0 to 100 or if it understeers around a corner. She is interested, however, that it is clean, it does not smell bad, that the suspension doesen't hurt her back and lets her touch up her makeup and that the AC works properly.
Finaly, I do use my cars and penthouse apartment to hunt for gold diggers. I know this is kind of a sensitive point in the PUA comunity, but if I just want a girl to fuck tonight I really don't see the point in chosing a respectable girl and having the hassle of the pickup when I could just flash my Breitling and pull out a roll of cash. She will be gone by the morning, so who cares. It's basically like calling a hooker, only cheaper and legal.
Now, to answer your question, your car is an extension of yourself, something that must suit your style and personality, just like your clothes or watch. I have a good life, but I am not a milionaire, so I usually go for older models of high class brands. Some are surprisingly affordable and if you go for something older you get to say "I drive a classic car". My first car was a 1973 BMW 2002. Cheap and kinda rough. I gave it a lick of paint, new seat covers, added fog lights and a few period correct extras and it was a real show stopper between the fiestas, micras and octavias the other guys drove in college. Then I felt the need to get a bigger car, and I got a 1977 Mercedes 300D. Same tretment, same result. After that it was a black 1991 Jag XJ6 i picked up at an impound lot auction, fit for a boss of the russian mafia. Then a 2004 BMW 730D. Amazing value for money on this one. It's about the same price as an entry level new car, like an ibiza or an aveo and you get a "big boss" car with an interior that is a mix of dead animals and rainforest, dvd with screens on the back seats, SatNav, phone, everything you expect to get on a modern limousine. The absolute best choice I ever made. Right now my everyday cars are the 730D, a 2006 Range Rover with a costum interior to resemble the Holland and Holland limited edition and a BMW Z4 with a fiberglass body that is a replica of the Z8.
As a bonus: I also have a Allard J2X kit car. It's not a practical car but it is very fun to drive. And texting a girl something like "Be at my place by x tomorrow. Bring warm clothes" and taking her for a spin on a mountain or seaside road on one of those makes for a memorable date.
