| Where to begin all depends on how good you already are with women. One can only tell by watching you in action.
I started out with all "outer stuff", my body language, tonality, clothes etc. Whatever you do, don't go into routines. Aim to become a natural. With that being your goal, start reading about all "techniques" with one very important and never-ending question playing on repeat inside your head: "How does that relate to how normal people behave?" As you gain more experience, you will realize that most techniques are not "creating attraction" as they claim, they only make you avoid stupid mistakes that make you unattractive.
Realize that in order to be socially accepted by others, you need to be "normal". You need to be like them, talk like them, have similar body language as them, wear similar clothes and behave like them etc. But still you need to be slightly different in order to stand out and get attention. To be "normal" means that you should NOT run any techniques or routines or even try to get laid. You should in fact not do pickup at all.
Instead, just go out and have fun with your friends, be open and talk to everybody, dudes as well as girls. Don't approach. Just talk to people. The only not-so-normal thing to do is to try to become an attention-whore, if it doesn't come naturally. Girls are usually attracted to men who have people's attention, so called "natural leaders".
Books I recommend are:
* Art of seduction by Robert Greene
* The art of reading minds by Henrik Fexeus
* Every body gets some by Henrik Fexeus (pickup manual inspired by The Game).
