Went to see a show with a girl yesterday.
Escalated a bit, but did not close because we had the proverbial third wheel with us. Still, used push/pull, some kino, escalated and she seemed cool with it.
Throughout the night we were talking about stuff that we did before, concerts we went, clubs, places we hang out, and it became clear we have different tastes. She likes african and latin music and loves to dance at the disco, I prefer rock and like to sit, relax and have a talk over a glass on lounge style places.
In the end the show was rubbish and we both felt it was a waste of time. We ended the night early and we was on that kind of spot that we both wanted to go somewhere but we were both too tired and annoyed to do it. When I was driving her home I said "Ray's Pub (mentioning a bar I am fond of) is still open. Shame none of my mates is there now. Not that you are not a good enough company" and she say "We don't have the same vibe, anyway" This is different in my lenguage, but still, I think this is the closest translation.
The escalation went well, and although the show turned out to be a big desapointment we had fun. Did she meant she doesn't want to have anything to do with me, or simply doesent like to hang out on my kind of place? How do I proceed to set up the next date? A place she likes, something in between?

Don't overthink. Just ask her for something in netural ground, like a seaside drive or something like that. Escalate, close and go from there.
