One of my girl friends has fixxed me up with one of her friends who she says is interested in me. Ive met this girl and interacted with her on a few occaitions. My question is what should my angle/ opener be on the first call to eliminate awquardness. Also, I think I can assume the opener/transition/disqulifiers are irrelivant. Are there any good strategies/ suggestions in such a situation?

First and most important remark , there is NO awquardness. This is just another girl , there never is a real reason to feel awquard when meeting somone new. Its all in your head.

Openers are sometimes helpfull to break the awquardness , however it is much more rewarding to get the awquardness out of your head. I think reading / practicing some AA pointers would help u , just browse the forum.

Any of the 1000s open ended questions / openers on this forum will suit this situation.

Well first, Im not really nevous about feeling awquard, I just was looking for an angle to begin the phone conversation to quickly get past the fact that we both know we were fixxed up. As far as there being no need for openers, transition, disqualification is because we've already met and can talk comfortably so no need to open/transition and since we've been fixxed up I would think a disqualifier would be useless since we both know we've been fixxed up with romance in mind. Am I wrong about this?
