Why do PUA use alisises? I would think that it would be off putting to a woman when someone introduced themselves as "juggler" for example.

Also, if there is a good reason for it what are some rules I could use in order to come up with a good one?

i just asked this a few weeks ago.

my take on it is that it's just another form of peacocking.

however, PUA names are being more widely used now it seems in the PUA community, rather than in the field. As the community grows, having a PUA name might be a tell-tale sign to a girl.

Handles are just part of internet communites. Mystery is both a stage name and his handle which confuses the situation. Gurus, like David D'Angelo market their product are also marketing themselves. Names are also withheld simply for privacy reasons, especially in novels like The Game.

Psychologically however, a name change or alter ego may make your transformation from who you are and who you want to become (which is how you should behave through your avatar) easier.

Personally, I give my first and last name because
1. they should earn the right to know my nickname(s), I believe someone assigning nicknames is DLVing you, I do it to AMOG guys.
2. my name is a great convo. thread on its own

Im glad you brought this up.
I sometimes wonder what people think when i introduce myself as moz or mozza. I prefer to be introduced but most of the time thats not possible. Everybody has called me this since i was a kid. So in a way i never had a choice on my alias. A few times i told girls my real (full) name but they ended up calling me by my nickname anyway.

I worry this may put them off dating me, like if a girl tells me her name and i love the name it makes me more attracted to them, and vice verser
