I posted this in the introduce yourself forum but I wanted to post it also here, since i wasnt sure how many guys checkout that forum!

Hi Guys,

I am in a bit of a weird.. but good situation. I am a photographer for a magazine and my job is to go to clubs, parties, concerts and sporting events and have fun! I shoot people having fun and I get paid for it, pretty well too!

But since I have the camera to kind of peacock myself and usually have all access I already have some DHV spikes already working for me. My problem is breaking that "i'm working persona"

I am very fun and friendly, and as I do need their photo and info (name, age, city) I would like to get in a set with them and start builiding comfort.

I have been shooting parties for years so I am pretty experienced in people handling but as I read a majority of the PUA material (books and articles) I feel that as I have an advantage it is an odd one. Anyone out there care to give me some ideas??

Thanks!

It makes for a perfect False Time Constraint. "Hey, I can't talk long because I'm taking pictures for ______, but how about you tell me a little about yourself and maybe I'll get you a caption. " Then there's always, "Smile for the camera! Good, now tell me, beauty is common, but what's 3 things that are gonna make for an interesting caption to put beneath your photo?"

another good one is you tell a girl you can't put her in a photo because you don't want to subject her to the publicity as she's different than the others..

it sounds cheesy but the fact that you're turning her down will play well with the fact that you just complimented her.. she's still however want to be in the picture... it should follow with her qualifying herself to you. after the pictures you can then give the false time restraint as suggested above and # close from there

Just remember not to get too involved with one person, use the time constraint and move around. Staying around the same area or talking to only one set can inadvertently disrupt what you are getting paid to do. This will allow you to pick and choose who you will be spending time with later without upseting anyone. Not to mention this creates a great instant date for you if done right... " listen, I have been taking pics all night, lets go across the street and get ( ice cream, coffee, etc) and talk for a bit."
If she doesn't bite, then excuse yourself, " I forgot I have to give my prints to ____, I have to go..."

I like your situation. Man it would take some people years to come up with a routine like that. Might I suggest an opener.

Use the primp neg. Walk up to a girl and move her hat, some article of clothing just the right way before you take the picture or even if you don't then say that's better. Or act like your removing a thread from her clothes or a piece of lint.

Sounds like you have a unique gift that will get your game moving.

Great info guys!

One comment on the false time constraint, i personally feel that it is weird to interact with a chik (doing what I do) then keep coming back to them. I see guys do similar shit all the time and it looks like to me that they go in, say a few lines, leave think of a few more, come back, talk a little more. It kinda looks looserish..

I go in, and boom boom boom take my shots and make a mental note of who I like. Then after i got what I need I go back to the chick, open her then go into some routines

yea, you do have an advantage. As far as your concern with the time restraint technique, think about not actually walking away too far from her. Make it at a safe distance to work, you're trying to get back to your work, but you are still close enough to make contact with her. Kind of like the cat string theory.
lets say your shooting an event and you see an hb. ask her a question to catch her interest, move away a little and take a picture of your event, but in a manner where she might not be too sure if you're going to go back and talk to her.
I dont know if this is of any help, but thought id try
