As I've been interested before I'm looking forward to taking my first steps in the PUA community. Among the mpua's who have been in the field a considerable amount of time, how much of it do you think boils down to looks? I know Neil Straus and other mpua's are by no means the most attractive people in the world, but do they have other things working in their favor that give them a distinct advantage over the motivated AFC looking to establish himself (like money, good jobs...)?

Im by no means an mpua but as far as i can tell so long as you brush up on your looks and dont go out looking like a tramp it doesnt really matter. Look at some of the guys in the VH1 show, they manage to pull off things you would never expect them to.

Just like guys, girls have their own tastes. And, just like in a guy's mind, looks only go so far in a girl's mind (although I believe looks matter much more to men than women). Like top_don said, as long as you show you care about your body, women will respond. If you neglect your looks, you will get rejected more often than not.

With women it is more emotional and how you make them feel. Now that means that if you look gross, or creepy, then its gonna hurt you, but if you can get past that and interact well, then you can still succeed. If you can make yourself just not creep and gross, then you shouldn't have any problems. If you look good (even if its just how sharp you dress and clean up) then you have a bit of an advantage.

A decent portion of the population isn't exaclty "pretty" though and PUAs often come from that group because they are the ones not getting laid, so you can rest assured many PUAs are not what you'd typically call "good looking".

You raise a good point about something I'm eager to learn about. What sort of behaviors make a woman classify a guy "creepy". The reason I ask this is because I know a lot of guys do things they're not even aware of that make girls "creeped out".

Generally it seems to occur when you TRY to make people like you. The best way to make people like you, is to just be alpha and confident in who you are and what you say and otherwise a good person to be around and they just will like you, but if you start trying to make them like you, people feel it and its creepy.

Looks don't really matter, but like Style says, you should always try to look your best.
