I tend to think it's no big deal and not worth thinking about, but I'm apparently in the minority here.

I can identify with the OP. I've lost several potential lays because some women think I'm too forward and rough and likewise lost a few potential lays because some women think I'm gay.

Sure, I think we all have. I just don't see enough information here.
This all reads like divining to me.
I lack info about the girl, and his provided info is already directed at his conclusion that she is "questioning his masculinity". And his premise appears to be based entirely on this quiz link.

How I read it:
He joked about wanting a purse - which she seems to have inferred was joking about getting the guy.
Then she followed *his* own joke up later in the day when she saw an are you gay quiz.

End of analysis. I tend to think things are simple unless I'm given reason to think they're complex. Nothing about this gives me an impression of complexity. Everyone is seeing Machiavellian shades to her actions. I doubt she put a lot of thought into it. She saw a gay quiz, mind went back to earlier when they were out, giggled to herself, and sent it to him. The end.
