This is some of the best advice I've heard in a long time.
Being slightly reactive is normal since we are all alive after all. As long as the reactive isn't over done.
If she says stupid like once in a really long time = then I need to stop being a wussy and whiny and not make a big deal out of it. Perhaps tease back or just ignore it.
But if i'm getting consistent negs then i need to
(A) neg back
or
(B) call her out on her behavior.
or
(C) Just sign out (if it gets bad).

Just a couple of things...
Forget the word "NEG". Just assume "PERSONALITY" or "CHARACTER". So if she's rude, be rude back or just lay your own ground rules. Don't "call stuff out" unless it's quite offensive I'd say.... (or tiresome by constant repetition).
You should have fun in any stage of a relationship or acquaintance.
As for the texting: I take girls' phones from them, and tell them not to be antisocial (when it's done in a group setting).... A few times usually.
It all depends on each situation. When it has happened one-on-one, I stop talking. They usually understand the rudeness and say sorry and stop texting. If not, I have asked them if they are going to put the phone away, or told them to do so. I, however, am a bit older and am going for younger girls, so I must educate them a bit. There are no hard fast rules, and you have to "calibrate" as they say each situation.
CHAT
