Arch is generally wrong, but in this case so are you, bossom. You gauge her interest by making a move. It is easier to ask forgiveness than permission. Gauging interest means you assume she is not interested at the start, so you need to find evidence that you are turning her around. Why not assume she IS totally interested and acting accordingly, stopping when her words and actions suggest otherwise instead?
