I've been reading the Mystery Method alot lately. It mentions that being passionate about something is important to success. But can't it be counter productive to have a identity/passions regarding something viewed as a social stigma?

The book states, "She doesn't really care what you are passionate about". So if I had a passion for chess and plane models would this really be something that could be considered as a positive aspect of me?

Personally, I have more dull interests such as entrepreneurship, video games, my career, and economics. None of which any girl would like to hear about for more than 5 seconds. I remember once (before getting into Pick Up) a girl expressed interest in America's current economic status so I struck up a conversation with her about the state of the Dollar but she practically just walked off.

So what do you guys think, should I become "passionate" about something cool and unpractical? Like snowboarding or motocross?

Thanks for your replies in advance, I know they will be very informative and helpful as most posts on this board are.

In my experience the answer to both of your questions is yes. Some hobbies that you're really into can counter act and backfire on you. And yes you should find a hobby that wemon would find attractive. Using myself as an example, I'm a pretty nerdy guy when it comes to playing video games. I love playing halo 3 and other games but I'm also a hardcore classic nintendo fan. Now unless I'm chatting up a cute gamer chick I won't ever mention this interest to whoever I'm talking to. Its just not something that would hold most girls attention.
As for finding something that wemon are interested in as your new hobby, look for something that you're into like if you like baseball start playing intermuarl baseball on weekends. If you enjoy moving around try taking dance lessons or yoga classes ( these are also good places to meet wemon while bettering yourself.) I myself am very musicaly minded, so I found some other friends who love music and started a band. There are plenty of fun things out there that you can take up and become passionate about that are fun and entertaing for you. Just find what suits your personality!
