I'm guessing this is a major novices problem, is it oneitis which you PUA's call it???

Here it goes anyway, any help/advice would be much appreciated.

Their's a girl, I've tried to close her for about 6 months with no such luck. At first she was unsure of me, I got past that stage eventually and we went on a date. I messed that date up a little which was the beginning of the end and it has sent me 10 steps back. I didn't do anything hugely wrong, just acted a little immature, which doesn't help when she's 5 years older. After the date I apologised and explained I was nervous so acted different to how I am etc.

Since then (3months ago) I've had limited contact, but I think I've gained some trust in her again. My real question is; do I confront her, explain my reasons and that we didn't get off on the right foot due to me and ask to take her for another drink but this time, being myself. Or do I go off RADAR hoping that will create a reaction from her and come back a so called 'new man' so she thinks I've changed?

Please help me out people!

Well there's two things that I'd think could be your solutions:

A) Drop the girl
B) Go for the girl again, but demonstrate higher value. Someone better than you wouldn't explain why they act to you all the time would they?

I'd suggest going out with a couple of girls that she knows, and possibly f-closing one of them, and she'll become jealous (evil, but effective), or ditch her all together.It's obvious that from reading your post that your really into this girl,and to be brutally honest, you seem a bit desprate.Act like your the prize and let the women come to you.

Another option, game some different girls, find some that are outside her social circle or -in it. Maybe if she sees or hears about these other girls having fun with you she'll come around, but that shouldn't be the point of this.
beakers right you do seem to come off kinda desperate. Most likely with the experience of gaming other women, the reality of the situation will set in.
You had one-itis and shouldn't be caring about what she thinks of you!
She should be chasing you, not the other way around, the chaser is the lower status of the two..

Correct me if I'm wrong PUA's but wouldn't you consider any issue that starts with "There's this girl" a non-PUA question?

Pick-up isn't about ONE girl. It's about you being a sexy beast and having the pick of the litter. But you've got to be that sexy beast first. And that means blowing of the "one girl". PUA's don't have "girl problems". They have girls or women or ladies in bunches.

You're all very true! I need a reality slap and need to make my first steps to becoming a PUA!
