Hey guys, I'm new to the PUA Community, I do however have a question. Is it that bad to buy a girl drinks? I've seen it widely disregarded by Strauss and Gambler, but it hasn't been the worst thing in the world for me.

I'm not talking about buying drinks to first open a girl, but in mid-game once you've first been chatting for a few minutes in the club. From my own experience, girls seem to be more keen to dance etc. once you've bought her a drink and I doubt her friends see it as sleazy either, particularly as I usually use it to isolate. Drinks are usually under £2, so it's not breaking the bank, sometimes the girls even buy the drinks themselves. I'm also good friends with the barman so he'll serve me immediately and sometimes doesn't charge, so there isn't a financial issue.

Anyone got any comments

If you buy a girl drinks, don't expect that to make her like you more or use it to keep her around. If you're a generous person by nature or money isn't going to be an issue, then it's fine.

It's bad to buy girls drinks because most guys will do it in an attempt to buy their attention.

A drink should be earned. I'm not saying she has to "work" for it, it's a damn shot after all. But don't just go throwing money at women for no reason. Have a conversation, swap one or two ideas, throw a witty joke at her. Whatever it is that you appreciate in a person. If she displays those qualities then she's earned the possibility of you buying a drink for her, as opposed to the rest of the girls in the club that did nothing but look pretty.

If a chicks say to you buy me a drink, means that she does not respect you and see yourself as a source. So on the other side, chicks with quality mostly wony let you pay. For me it is enough to see some effort for paying the frink, then i could pay or let them pay, it shows money is not an issue. Generaly i suggest not to pay the drinks for chicks, unless u are rich.

P.S. Gambler is a rich bastard, thats because he offers to buy, from his side it could be, if there is any possibility to win chicks. But fuck that i am not old enough to buy drinks lol

If a girl told me to buy her a drink.. I won't.. Because that's not a good dynamic. If however I'm talking to a girl and want to get a drink, I have no problem getting her one as well. I've bought drinks/rounds for friends, random guys random girls, couples, and had drinks bought for me by all those groups at different times. It's just part of socializing at the bar and not something that needs to be thought about. If the plumber comes by my place I offer him something to drink. If a girl comes over same thing. I say don't stress it.. Have fun and treat people well and don't make it a big deal as most people reciprocate anyway.

The one semi-exception to that, is if I've been with a girl for a while, and she says something like "WE should get drinks" this is basically girl for "I want to go back to your place, but need the 'I'm tipsy' excuse first".

This is also why I have tiny shot glasses and liquor with low alcoholic content back at my place. No reason to load her up with actual alcohol and the problems that come with it, when she's mostly just looking for an excuse.
