Friday night I went to a bar by myself and had a few drinks. While I was ordering a drink, I seen a woman I ran into a few times sitting directly across from me. I never made a serious attempt at making a convo, just made a few jokes (which she seemed to find somewhat amusing). I also noticed her glancing at me in the gym, but I wrote it off as her just looking around.

As she was sitting at the bar I realized the she was glancing at me, even though she was surrounded by 3 guys I assumed were just her friends. Grabbing my drink and walking away, I didn't see her again until a few hours later. She was sitting by one of the guys I seen with earlier, with a moderate amount space between them. Based on how bored she looked staring at her phone, scrolling through pictures on Instagram, I figured I would actually try to speak to her.

Now this is where things began to go down hill. I crouched beside her (she was sitting in a pretty low chair) and asked her what she was reading after I noticing it was a quote. She handed her phone to me I looked at it briefly and gave it back, only to have her tell me she was seeing someone. Not sure if she was testing me, I asked her if he was at the bar. Before she could reply the guy sitting next to her approached me yelling, something to the effects of "she doesn't want you go away". At that moment I began to forget all about the girl and wanted to toss the little guy across the room, but another guy, I assume came with them, stepped in between the guy yelling and myself. At first he was hostile, but after speaking with him he understood. I decided to leave, seeing how she obviously didn't feel any attraction and thinking I may have misread her.

Outside the bar I ran into a friend and told him what happened. Mid sentence she came out of the bar yelling at me, screaming that I needed to go home. Confused, I asked why she was yelling and once again having her friend tell me that I needed to leave. The look on her face didn't make sense to me, it was almost like I hurt her feelings or possibly caused her feelings to be hurt. My friend pulled me away from the bar.

I'm still confused as to why she was so upset. Is this a somewhat normal situation? Has anyone experienced something like this or can analyze what could've possibly caused the outburst?

Isolated incident of dealing with a crazy bitch. Shit happens. You wanna get good at pickup you'll occasionally have this happen by sheer odds as you talk to loads of women. When a girl tells you to leave her alone, I've found it works to just say "be safe tonight" as you walk back to the bar or whatever. Hell she followed you out of the bar to tell you to leave after you had left. It's funny as hell.

The one thing to keep in mind in these weird situations: don't scream, don't curse, don't insult, don't threaten. The moment you do, you become the bad guy. If you avoid that, most sane people will realize she's crazy. That's more of a thing to keep in mind so you don't get tossed out of any clubs.

Not sure this was anything except the guy she was with getting insecure and puffing his chest out after finding out who you were and that you were chatting her up.

It happens. Insecure guys get territorial.

You can take comfort in knowing he looked just as bad if not worse than you (and you sound like you were fine, this shit happens).

I think you handled it all right from what you've said here.

This reminds me of a weird experience I had years ago. One night at a bar I met this girl and we made out a bit then went our separate ways. About a month later I saw her in the bar again, and her two friends (one guy and a girl) came up to me and started shouting at me about 'forcing myself' on their friend, whilst the girl just stood there and watched. They even managed to get me thrown out of the bar by, presumably bullshitting a bouncer. Random freak occurrences happen, there's nothing you can do. Sometimes there is no right or wrong way to deal. But good job for keeping your cool.
