This gal is a student doing her rotations in my department and everyone at work noticed she was into me. But I did a stupid thing and waited two weeks to get her number (stalling a lot, I know).

Right before she left I ran out into the hallway. Here's the conversation:

me: Hey, ***! Hold up!
her: Yea?
me: I was wondering if your free next tuesday night?
her: Uhh...(3 second uhh)
me: Because I found this blah blah restaurant.
her: Sure
me: Sweet! Whats your number?
(I gave her my phone and she put the number in)
me: Alright, I'll give you a call. and we can figure this out.

I know what your thinking. But I'm very new to this. Before this I had social anxiety but got better and better every year. Practiced by having normal conversations (no pick up) with the opposite sex.

And over the years I've been to the gym just for a confidence boost because I've developed a muscular build. I've even caught women staring at me in the gym.

But getting back with the number. What should I do next?

Don't worry about fucking things up. You're going to fuck things up a good amount of times before you learn how not to - it's a numbers game. Don't get too attached to one girl or worry too much about messing it up with a certain someone. You will and then you move onto one of the many many other women in the world

What the previous poster said. It's a lot of trial and error until something sticks. Give her a call, keep it short and to the point, and save the more fun talk for in person.
