Why play games when trying to get a phone number??
Just hand her your phone, and tell her to put her number in! Oh so simple, and you don't have to mess around with a routine.
Because the point is to make it fun and memorable. If you just hand her your phone, then it works, but if you give her some paper you don't want to have to ask for her number, she should be giving it to you.
By negging her for not being creative and then showing her how to play your game, then it builds more attraction, because you are confident enough to give her shit for not doing it right and because you are fun and funny about it, not just like every other guy that has ever asked for her number.
