I'd really recommend against this, it comes off as corny and try hard.

It is possible to pull magic tricks off in social situations without it somehow backfiring, but bear in mind it is HARD, and very few people are able to pull it off successfully. It's really easy to make yourself look like a fool with it if you aren't careful. I speak from experience on the making yourself a fool part.

There's a lot of great resources out there, but http://www.ellusionist.com is a good place to start if you're serious about wanting to go through with this.

The above posters are right its risky and you gotta know what you're doing as far as looking like a try hard I agree to an extent if done right and your social skills are good its more persistant then anything. If you wanna see the perfect example of magic in pick up go to youtube look up keys to the vip magician. If you're gonna do it that's how you do it.
