I've realized recently, why the baby boomers, our parents and grandparents, were so much better than we will ever be. We will never be as educated as them. We will never be as brave as them. We will never work as hard or achieve as much as them. Why? Because they knew when to keep shit to themselves. They knew the difference between important shit and unimportant shit. For example: how many people have you seen on fb and twitter posting pics of their food, their car, their new skivvies or their selfie in the bathroom mirror with a deuce clearly visible in the toilet? Our ancestors had priorities. These things I'm referring to are called "old fashioned values" these days. I don't see anything "old" about commitment, integrity, and honour for yourself and for others. When shit got broke, they fixed it. Everything from the shoes on their feet and the clothes on their backs to their relationships. These days we just throw away anything and everything. We throw away our shirt with the hole in it. We throw away the fork thats bent. We throw away the relationship when it gets old and stale. We throw these things away because WE ARE ENTITLED TO BETTER SHIT. Everything we have and everything we know has been given to us, by the government, by parents who thought they were doing us a favor, by the internet. Our world is at our fingertips so why should we struggle and work when we can just ask? Just google it. Fb search hot young brunette at the local high school and there she is. Ready to be taken. That's what we have become. We don't feel the impulse to socialize in person, to talk to people one on one. To touch them, smell them, taste their perfume in the air. We have lost so much in the last 50 years that this forum becomes a necessity. We are trying to reprogram ourselves how to do something that our ancestors had no problems with. If our great grandparents could see us here today they'd laugh in our face and beat us with the newspaper and kick us out the door down to the closest bar.
I've got friends with daughters who are cute or pretty. Do you think they will ever know that? Will those girls ever imagine that I like her eyes or that one's personality? No fucking way! They will never know I think that because that is the kind of shit that we need to keep to ourselves. You gotta be able to hide that shit. Ever hear the saying, "take it to the grave?" Use it. Live it.
So move on OP. Keep looking for some honour for yourself and if you find some integrity along the way, best pick it up too. This world needs men, not a sad lot of grown boys who will eyefuck every teen in the grocery store. Honour, bro. That's where it's at.
