i have read the The Venusian Arts Handbook and it tells how important clothes can be, its obvious if females like clothes so much the probably appreciate a well dressed man the same.

i am lost though... i am 18 years old and to this point in my life ive worn generic, ac/dc and zeppelin shirts, or a hoody and a t-shirt from holister.\\

i know it must be difficult recommending clothes for someone you dont know or know what the look like. but any suggestions because i certainly do not get complemented on my clothing regularly! lol aside from my girlfriends say o thats nice i don't think its ever happened.

so any style types, weather clothing or accessories would be great!

One thing i have done recently is i went shopping at hollister for the first time. One thing i did there was i got these new jeans with a bunch of marks all over the pants, they were ripped, and they were kickass, lol. anyways i got A LOT of comments from girls, and the best thing to do is say, "rub them they seriously feel good," or again do the Push-pull technique. anyways just were stuff that stands out, you can do a little bit of funny shirt shopping(the ones with jokes on them) get a new hat or something. anyways good luck

don't go to hollister... Dress with Express or Guess.. that's how I dress at school/clubs w/e.. i am 22 btw. I get compliments all the time.. "why do you always dress so nice?" I try to stand out of the crowd, which is pretty easy down here in Florida... Everyone wears the same crap, hollister tshirt, shorts, flip flops. BE DIFFERENT and girls notice you.

To get your basic dress up to snuff. Shop with a GIRL!
My dress by your description was just like your out of high school only worse (Silly T-shirt, crap jeans, sneakers, optional hoody).

Or if you don't have any girls to go shopping with:
- Gay Friends (its not a stereotype, gay men have a good eye for fashion)
- Read GQ or other 'Mens Fashion' magazines. See 'what's hot' and fits you. Then find stuff at local stores that look similar (You don't have to pay 1K for a CK Jacket).
- HBs! Their at the mall shopping too or even working! It's a perfect opener because it's true. "I need a female opinion on what would look good....."

Dude, I just kick out my red, polyester pants with a silky black metro shirt and girls come on to me. Be sure to wear a silly hat! :D

And yes, for fans of humour, I do have pictures of myself dressed this way in clubs. If you're curious, you can check out how I dress on my MySpace: http://www.myspace.com/spiralsamadhi. I have quite a few pictures where I'm pimped out.

My man, dress to what you want to attract!

If you want college co-eds... the hollister look will still work... through in some a&f, a&e, Aeropostale, whatever dont worry about the name brand... choose clothes that accent your body type... always try things on... each designer fits differently... you may be a L in express, but a medium in a&f... so you need to try things on... and if you dont feel confident in it when you put it on the first time, dont buy it...

if you want young professionals 23-29... up your wardrobe to express, BR, some nice black shoes, untorn jeans, etc...

hope that helped a lil

Go on ebay and type in a brand name you know. Then look at them, click one of the related searches, look at those. You can easily get a feel for all the diffrent designers and figure out what you like.

its all about find what fits you best. im pretty sure style said he just buys generic cloths that are like $12 shirts. its like if i needed to wear just a white undershirt a Fruit of the loom shirt is going to be a better bet than an express under shirt because they dont fit me well. It also depends on the look you want. Even though they are basically the same Hollister will give you a more surfer beach look while Abercrombie goes with the more sophisticated casual look. Express will give you more of the city urban look and a store i really like is Buckle. They have good variety of nice clothes from different companies in there and they are more comfortable but i care to get something that looks good look. But start going out and getting opinions from people. make sure it fits to your body. dont get anything that is really baggy. like look from the front and then look at it from the side and make sure it doesnt do what i call "belling" which when the shirt puffs out at the bottom and doesnt stay with the body. I've had a few a HB 10's ask me to go shopping with them because they found i have good style. I normally go for a classy/casual look. A nice long sleeve button up with the wrist unbuttoned at the bottom unless they are french cuffs. and a good pair of jeans that compliment my front and back assets well.

what do you guys do about clothes shrinking?? I have this problem with almost all the clothes i buy. I will buy the smaller size that i think looks better on me and then after i after i dry it (I dry them on low) it will be to tight and small so I wont like it anymore. And if i go the size up it never seems to shrink enough like i want it to. What do you guys do? And whats your advise on this

wash cold the first few times and tumble dry and/or stop buying your clothes at walmart

i am somewhere between a medium and a large in t-shirts. i will almost always buy the medium and just simply not tumble dry, ever. i hang dry all my t-shirts and they fit just as well as the day i bought them, and as a bonus they do not fade, no matter the color.
