Location: St. Paul | | an hb7.5 i just met when we started college two weeks ago went to a party with me. she had some booze and i was completely sober. she just dyed her hair black a few days ago and ive been busting her NON STOP on it. calling her emo, calling her raven, that kinda stuff. So tonight at the party shes taking pictures of us....

HB: wow your serious arent you. wow you really hurt my feelings
i thought it was funny so i just laughed
she got super pissed and turned her back to me. i turned my back to her too and just stood next to each other, backs turned. I felt bad cuz i know i took it a little too far and wanted to apologize but i knew i couldnt, i had to save face. i got bored at the party after a while and left.
im not too worried, im usually good at making this stuff blow over.
i have two classes with this girl and see her ALL the time......any tips on what to say next time i see her?

Location: Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada | | you're pretty much screwed. you aren't supposed to tell her her hair looks like a wig, you're supposed to ask if her hair is real. its much less offensive, but it still makes them self conscious and they typically try to validate themselves.

Location: DC | | I can see why that girl was pissed. She probably was already self-conscious about changing her hair, and you made her feel even worse. The best damage control would be an apology. Just don't make a big deal out of it.
"Sorry, I was being a dick when I ragged on your hair. It's a drastic change. It's kinda cute though." If you look her in her eyes, bush her arm and half-smile when you compliment her, she'll melt. (Or at least, I would if I were her!)

Posts: 80 | | I have tried using both the wig and fake hair ones and they both get pretty strong reactions. I have only had one girl not get the shits with me on that one.
