im 17 and i have no problem going up to girls but when i start a convo im not sure how to leave with a number becuase usaully they are either going to class or leaving to work, i would simply say
me: hey you ? whats your name?
HB: ashley or somethin
is that an AFC move by askin for her name witch tells her that i am intersted in her ?
what im really tryin to accomplish here is when i approach an HB how can i leave with her number?

The only line you will ever need for number closing goes something like "Look, it's been great talking to you, but I've got to meet up with my friends right away. What steps can we take to continue this conversation later?"

If she doesn't offer you her phone number, you can ask for it directly. "Do you have a phone number I can reach you at?"

And yes, asking her name does telegraph an aweful lot of interest from the get-go. It's better to wait for her to ask, or to introduce yourself after you've built some rapport. The former is preferable, but the latter works in a pinch.

I know what you mean man. I'm still in highschool and during school hours it is really difficult to chat up HB's. Try them during lunch or something. Otherwise the best way is to meet them at a party.
