One of the first things as a new PUA you need to get a hand on is AA (Approach Anxiety). The fear of rejection. Nothing wrong there, you will get the hang of it. But to boost your feeling of control/power/confidence when picking up a woman I have a little true statement for you.

Woman only get to pick the men that have picked them first. Most women (regardless of what they say) just don't have the guts to open the man they want so they are stuck with picking from the men that already picked them. They think they have all the power but in the end they don't. So next time you get shot down think to yourself "there is at least 1 or 2 guys this girl wants and wont be going home with." Sure you might have settled on an HB8 because that HB10 shot you down but most likely she's going home alone or with her 3rd or 4th or 5th etc etc pick.

Also I have found that telling a woman this gets them very mad. I've yet to work it into a neg without it completely ruin the set. They just can't handle the truth and almost always say "Oh I go talk to guys all the time" and we all know thats no where near the truth.
