there is a girl from france living near me on campus for the next couple of weeks (HB8.5). as far as i can tell she speaks pretty good english, but it has some holes in it. what would be the best way to open her, and what are some tricks that could be used in a situation like this?

She just moved in? I'm guessing she doesn't have any friends here yet then? It'll be easy then.

Learn how to say "You know how to get around here? I'm kinda lost." In french, use googles translater lol. I remember I did it to this girl that knew french as a 3rd language this one time, she really took it seriously and started showing me around, later on I just confessed, "You know, I can actually speak English, I just wanted to talk to you ^_^<--Smile, eye brows slightly up" She was really surprised, but she died laughing.

It could probably work for you, it's all about how you can project it lol.

But since shes new, she probably doesn't know campus that well. In that case after you ask her, you can say "Yeah I know your new, just wanted to talk to you." then maybe you can show her around, or get a coffee date on the spot maybe?

Some people will probably disagree since it shows interest to early, but iono, it worked for me. Try n come up with something thats says your funny, confident, and you like to have fun. Hope this helps. - Redkid
