Another question maybe somebody could help me with? How long should the average pick up initial approach last? Are we talking five minutes for a number close? More or less? How long for a K close e.t.c. Is there a minimum or maximum length of time?

Depends on what methods you are using and different things. If you are using something common like the Mystery Method it would take about 5-10 minutes just to finish building attraction and moving into comfort.

Then from there about another 15 minutes before you can easily get a # and/or a kiss close.
In most cases that is too fast. She might have some initial attraction for you but she won't know what she has in common with you. That is why the comfort phase is so important. She wouldn't know what to talk to you about if you did call, let alone ask her out, because she really doesn't know you after 5 minutes.
You really have to do this stuff by feel. Some guys can walk up to a set, say nothing, and start making out with girls. Others take a different approach method and it takes longer because they are building solid attraction and comfort first. It just depends.

Figure about 10-20 minutes on the average if you are doing things right and have indicators that she's interested in you, maybe evens ome compliance.

There really isn't a maximum time. I mean you might meet a girl tonight. Talk to her for about 10 minutes and get some attraction going. She has to run so you're not able to build comfort really but get her # anyways. Then you make a few phone calls to her over the next few days to get her more comfortable with you. Then you get her on a date a week later and kiss her.

It's really situational. Although, you always want to be escalating or you risk being put in the friend zone.
