Hi, I'm new here. I just got into this stuff the past month, but I think I've made really good progress. Before, I wasn't able to really talk to girls, but I've since made 3 approaches, 2 of them pretty successful.

One of them is with a girl in my lecture (I'm in college btw). The first time I talked to her, I just asked a random question about the class. But the next time, I opened, and we joked around for about 10 minutes before class started. I made her laugh a few times.

Since people sit in pretty much the same place every class, I'll probably get a chance to talk to her every class. I'm wondering when it's appropriate to ask for her number. I'm thinking I need to DHV and build rapport first. Then I'll ask for her # to study or something. Anyway, how soon should I do this?

Based on what you've written here, I'd say you can get her number the next time you see her. Just get it at the end of the next conversation you have with her.

And keep it simple. "Hey, what's your number?" You don't need to get cute with this.

I'm planning on doing the thing where I ask how to spell her name, while putting it in my phone, and then asking her to put her number in.
What do you think?
