Heya, do you guys know of any good book/product that teaches how to keep the conversation going? Kinda getting stuck on what to what to say next/ how to keep interaction fun etc sometimes.
What's happening is you aren't leading the conversation. Or perhaps you aren't using the information she's giving you. Whenever you're talking to a girl, she's giving you information. So long as she isnt giving 1 or 2 word answers "Yes, no, aha" Every little thing she says can prolong the conversation.
Here's a (shortened) conversation I had a long time ago when I started PU. And I'lll show you what I should of done and how I'll point out the hooks that I should of seized on.
Raining at a bus stop. She's standing just outside the shelter. Opened with asking her if she wanted to come under the stand.
HB8 : So why are you out today?
Me: Just a little shopping, you?
HB8: Just coming from college. I'm learning to drive so I won't have to wait for buses though. Do you have a car?
Me: Yeah.
Then the uncomfortable silence. We stand there. Near enough to touch her. And running through my head is "Please say something to me. I can't think of anything to say."
So she's mentioned Learning to Drive (how long have you been learning, easy/hard, assume therefore she's 17) and College (guess which college, which course, etc) . 2 really easy things to talk about. All things that anyone reading this can talk about, make assumptions about and extend a conversation. I missed them all.
Remember also that during the rapport building stage being cocky/funny isn't always the best thing. If she tells you that she loves her college course. Taking the piss out of it is pretty much the worst thing you can do. So tone it down in relation to the energy you used when opening her.
Did that make sense?
