So I'm told that a key to success is to hang around people better than you and learn from them.... But, why would people better than you want to hang around you if you eventually don't provide any value to them. Being new, how do you even know "how" to be a wing without the true experience. So as a newbie, how would you provide value to your mentors so they'll still be around. Attitude? willingness to learn? Thanks.

Well I was kinda wondering the same thing not long ago, I am planning on meeting up with some guys from my local "lair" soon and they are all much further in game than myself (not masters but much better than me) so I just straight up asked them if they were cool with me meeting up with them for sarging even though I have no experience and could potentially ruin some sarges in the beginning. They came back and said pretty straight forwardly not to worry about it because they were happy to help me get going, of course they all new what it was like to be new at some stage so they said that they'll encourage me as much as possible when we go out and also help out with any sticking points I have or spot flaws in my game that I don't spot.

Sooo, in conclusion my general feeling is that if you are gonna meet up with some guys to wing who are better than you, if you let them know your situation/experience before you meet up with them then whatever happens will be cool (as long as you aren't a dick of course) as far as I can tell, anyone who learns this stuff is almost instantly wanting to teach/help others, even though I'm a noob aswell with little experience other than a couple of minor sarges, I've already began trying to help a buddy of mine who is having similar problems to myself. Unfortunately he sees the PU community as a "cult" (yes he used the word cult) although I am trying to make him understand what this really is because he has had even less luck with women in his life than I have (I aint had much lets put it that way) is still a virgin (as am I) 2 years older than me at the age of 21.

Sorry, rambled a bit there, can't help it sometimes.
