Hey,
this is an excellent question that doesn't get asked often enough. If you expected to read a book and be a master, boy were you wrong
This shit takes a lot of time and effort before you even begin to see tangible results. But if you're prepared to invest the effort and take a few hits on your ego, you're in the right place.
The thing that set me on my journey was finding a wingman. We sucked ass when we rolled together and hardly ever got past openers, but we were there for each other and we kept each other motivated. Once you get opening down (might take a few nights, depending on how good you already are), keep on meeting other guys, preferably those who are better than you. If you look around the meet up and wing section and send messages to users whose style you like, you'd be surprised how many of them will be happy to show you a trick or two, provided you're not a pain in the ass when they take you out. If you roll with guys who are already better than you (not necessarily pickup gods, so long as they're better than you), you'll see your learning curve steepen. Just make sure you give them value as opposed to exclusively draining. If they don't have a good time rolling with you, they won't take you out again (why would they?!)
Just my 2 cents.
