So yes, something along the lines of what you said sounds like a better option. If you're going to see her beforehand to get her number then the Thursdays thing isn't that important at this stage - I was under the impression we were just looking for a myspace response.

You could let her buy you a coffee - it gives you a good reason to have a second one! If you get her out for coffee and she's under the impression that she's meeting you to buy you a coffee, i don't think it really matters whether she pays or not.
