I was a party last night and was hitting it off really well with this one girl. We were flirting about 10 minutes and everythign was going well, when she asked me my age. I said 22 and asked hers and she said 24. I jokingly called her an old maid with a smile on my face.

All of a sudden, she got pretty offended and said to me:
"Just so you know, you should never tell that to a girl you are trying to get with"
She began to walk away and I told her "I was just kidding with you" and I nudged her... but she she kept walking


I thought this was interesting, things seemed to be going so well but maybe I get too carried away with negging sometimes and that wasn't appropriate.

Anyone successfully negged on someone's age? Thoughts?

It's all about your delivery. I have joked on a woman's age before (22-24) when most of the girls around them are 18-21. However, I am 35, and most of them know/think I'm in the late 20's so they know I'm teasing.

I wouldn't make the comment like that if I were younger than the woman. At that point, the rule of age/weight comes into play...lol

it would seem like you didn't quite say it jokingly enough and she took it the wrong way,
well something to alway keep it mind is to never talk about a women hight or weight without joking

I felt like I said it very jokingly I was smiling and I didn't feel like 'old maid' could be taken it as a real insult anyways.

I'm 24 and am seeing three women who are older than me. One's 27, one's 29, and another's 31. They all *look* my age, but they're definitely older. I joked about it with each of them a couple of times and now it's become a running gag. The 29 year old has a small baby and we joke that I'm closer to the kid's age than hers, and that maybe I should just wait around a couple years till the kid get old enough.

After a really good date last week, the 27-year-old and I had lunch and I was getting a lot of IOIs but I know she considers herself very high value so when we got onto age and she asked me how old I thought she was, I said 34 without hesitation. She gasped and laughed and couldn't tell if I was serious, and so I tempered it by giving an easy smile and saying with great sincerity, "It's okay. I love older women. I'm seeing a few. You got that cougar thing goin." She laughed and said she's 27 and I said, "Ohhh yeah, wait, I think I knew that." So she asked again how old I thought she looked. Without pause, I said, "16," and sipped my drink. She fell over on the table laughing. She told me I suck and she said, "Well, you know I don't move like an old lady." I nodded and said, "True...granny got groove." It was all very playful and said with good cheer, but then I've acted most of my life so I know how to toss off even the most savage insult and make it sound like a punchline. A big part of it is throwing the remark away very casually instead of saying it like a real statement, which gives it more weight.

They know I'm not serious, they know they don't look their ages, they know I'm sarcastic as hell and make cracks about things all the time and shouldn't be taken seriously, and they know I wanna fuck their brains out and wouldn't purposely do or say something to work against that, so we're all good.

Anyways, I think I realized why she got so offended.

She asked me how old I was (Which could be seen as an IoI) and after giving her my response and simultaneously asking her age, I immediately negged her.

So, I should of been rewarding her for good behavior instead of punishing her.

What are some rewards I can give girls that are giving me IoIs. Give them back IoI's and kino esculate maybe?
