im 14 and i like a girl and she likes me (she says just a little). but everytime we talk it gets so dull and awkward. i dont know what to do.

any ideas or comments would be greatly appreciated.

Relationships at 14 are allways like that to begin with mate, dont be too hard on your self we've all been there, try and find out what music / tv she is into or hobbies and shit like that, if you can find a common intrest then there is your starting block for a conversation, It should progress from there..

Or if its still awkward speaking to her in person get used to Texting her or MSN/Myspace/Facebook/Bebo (whatever) before maybe ringing her or meeting up more.

From experience, I'd actually advise AGAINST talking on MSN or AIM or w.e.... what happens is you'll start building up a fake online relationship and make no progress in REAL LIFE. Chill with her outside or school and shit

Practice the way you respond to a girl talking about herself..if you know any flamboyant gay guys, just watch them for a while. I know it might not seem right but I've found that girls love when you tell them things like "Oh My God" or even "O M G! L O L!" "Stop it!" "You did not!?!" "And then what?" "Don't leave me hanging like that! What happened?" "Shut up!" and the like.

at 14 you should see this as practice. congrats for getting into the game at an early age. first thing u need to do is be more mature then every other guy and stand out. i know u are young but carry urself like a man, not a boy. if u want some stuff to talk about find out her hobbies and bring them up in conversation. If yall talk on the phone switch to texting. i find a 10 minute conversation on the phone can last several hours in a text message. plus it wont make u look needy. at ur age, i remember every friday night everyone would go to the movies or bowling alley and chill out together and have fun. if you can meet up with her at an event like this then great. she may not be able to understand "dating" but she can certainly understand hanging out. and when u hang out be fun, laid back, and alpha male.
