I recently started a new job and have been talking to a few of the girls around the office. Within one week one of these girls starts sending me emails after we were only introduced by names and no other conversations. We start sending emails back and forth over the next week, I make nicknames for her, tease her, ect. Since then we have gone for luches and coffees together but nothing outside of work. After the first lunch we went on she emails me not 5 minutes after we got back to our desks.

HB- Hey thanks for lunch... I had fun.
Me- If you play your cards right I might let you come out with me again.
HB- Oh..I think Im playing them right.
I dont reply right away then she hits me back again.
HB- Arent I?
Me- It wouldnt be much fun if i told you now would it...

I got her # and we text back and forth occasionally. I have been amping up kino but there is nothing more i can do but push her around playfully, swat her with stuff ect. cause were at work whenever we see each other. We have been unable to meet outside of work yet because of my school schedule but i have just finished all of my exams, so that is the next step obviously.

Today we were supposed to go for lunch together but she bailed on me about 45 minutes before hand through an email. I didnt reply and didnt go see her. Soon after i got back from my lunch she came over.

HB- Hey stranger
Me- Whats up
HB- Nothing, how was lunch?
Me- Good my friend kaytee brought me lunch and we went shopping
then just some fluff talk and she went back to her desk.

I didnt mention her flaking on me, I let her know that I had met up with another friend, and I did not reenitiate any sort of conversation with her. I think this showed im not needy and I have more options than just her alone... It was also a sort of punishment for flaking on me and she had to come back to make it up to me, i wasnt going to chase her. Do you guys think this is what my actions showed? Were these the right plays? How can I deal with flakes in the future (not just with this girl)? What can I say to let girls know flaking is unacceptable?

I think you handled it good.

I wouldnt jump to conclusions about her flaking out because she might have had a legitimate reason for canceling plans.

i agree with killians! You handled it well

i never call them out, sometimes if they give me a legit reason i still tease them the next time i see them...hey flake! but i will never accuse them. If they actually flake, they lost the chance

just means they will either try hard to get back in your good graces or you found out what type of person they are early on.
