I don't speak for anyone else of course, but I can't even attempt to offer advice or a guess in any direction until you clear up that vague declaration, 'cause it sounds like you have severe social anxiety. But, again, I can't be remotely sure until you say more.

i think when you do go sarge alone you need to approach people in general, try to make some contacts. its hard at first but not doing it gets you no where.

I wouldn't necessarily agree on the drinking thing, and certainly I wouldn't take a hard line on it. I think it's called "social lubricant" for a very good reason. But there's a fine and very bold line--it's one thing to get trashed with friends, but nobody wants to be hit on by a drunk guy. DO not over-imbibe and then think it's okay to go hit on some girl. 24 out of 25 times, if not more, you're gonna screw yourself over.
