Forum rules

A Sticking Point or SP is an issue you CONSISTENTLY run into.

It is NOT a point where you get stuck with ONE SPECIFIC GIRL.

A Sticking Point is:
Quote:
I keep getting LMR whenever I bring girls back to my place. This has happened at least 10 times already! What am I doing wrong?
A Sticking Point is NOT:
Quote:
I got LMR with this one girl! What do I do?
IT IS AGAINST THIS BOARD'S RULES TO POST THREADS ABOUT JUST ONE GIRL
If you have not already gone out and practiced enough to have a real Sticking Point from meeting an ABUNDANCE of women, YOU DO NOT DESERVE TO POST HERE.

I dont have a problem with height. I'm 5'8, but I was at this banquet one night, dancing with a bunch of girls, and I came to this one girl, maybe an inch taller, who just randomly said "your short". I kinda get wiped it off my shoulders, and didn't let it ruin my night, but I started to think about it today. How should I respond to a comment like that if I ever encounter one again?

Thanks

Go cocky aggressive man, reply with something like "ha yeah, I think you're too tall for me darling, better stay away from you"...that will work ;)

EDIT: Its a bit of a shit test, she is looking to see if she can phase you. Don't be phased!

"I may be short, but I'm not little ;)"
Bahahahaahahah....

You did the right thing - just ignore it.

How do you think things would go if a guy randomly said "Your tits are small" to a girl?

You don't make comments about people's appearance, it's not socially acceptable. It's low, very low, and has no place in general conversation.

Just ignore statements like that. As already said, that's just bad manners. Height means nothing by the way. One of the best ladies men I have know was shorter than you, but you would never notice cause he 'walked tall'. If you are short and worry about it then you have a tendency to walk slouched or edgy. Try slowing down your movements and just be comfortable with who you are. Girls like guys have these ideal man stereotypes, much of which is cultural or from the media, but once you get to talk to her I have never met a girl who would keep it up after that. Then it's probably just a way of saying 'not interested', a spin on the 'it's not you, it's me'.

I'm 5'-5 1/2" so I know exactly your pain, my friend. Girls are programed to go after taller guys by our society, which I think is completely stupid. In this day and age, a tall guy has no more chance of being a good provider than a short guy does, but girls are still programmed from cave man times to prefer a taller guy. But us short guys are going to have to be that much funnier and more interesting to overcome the short stigma.

A girl who uses height against you is creating a hoop for you to jump in. If you take her bait and jump in her hoop, you diminish your value. You have to shut it down immediately but nicely and turn the hoop back on her with a neg.

Tall girls are actually pretty self conscious about their tallness. They've been called out for it by adults and peers since childhood, and they're always complaining about never finding clothes that fit them or how hard it is to find a guy that's taller when they wear heels. A neg about a girl's tallness could be powerful, but as a comeback to her neg about your shortness, it just sounds like a try-hard. Find some other means to neg her but don't make it vindictive or she'll know she struck a chord. Just off-handedly neg her, showing disinterest, continue your routine with her friends. When she clambers back in to the conversation, you can reward her. When she gives you an IOI or flat out apologizes for her rude comment, you can reward her with a non-height related but fairly weak complement, like "oh - so you really are a nice person after all" or something. When she's back in the game, neg her playfully and keep her on her toes. Just stay in your frame and keep it tight. If she brings up the height thing again, immediate freeze out or neg until she comes back. Then reward again with an IOI or a complement. Soon she'll get it and won't bring up the height issue again.

Another great way to deal with a rude comment like about height is to just let it fall flat in the group with a dramatic pause followed by a neutral "OK, then!" or something similar that indicates someone just did something extremely rude but no one is going to talk about it. Just let it dangle out there and let her squirm and feel awkward for saying something bitchy in front of her friends who by now are probably enjoying your company. Unless they're egging her on, they'll sense the awkwardness and maybe even flash her a "quit being a bitch" look.

One other thing about height - you might have better luck getting past the height issue by getting your set seated rather than standing if that's possible in your venue. You might even preselect a venue based on available seating. If you're standing over a table of seated girls, you're taller than them for that moment and height is less of an issue. And when you're seated next to them, the height difference is greatly reduced.
